I spent the fall of 2013 studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland where I fell in love with the country I’ve taken to calling “the Homeland”. Not just because I felt adopted by the country and their culture, but because my family, my favorite grandfather, has roots there. This semester abroad awakened my dormant wanderlust.

I drink too much tea—two cups before I’ve even been awake for an hour—and my favorite piece of architecture is the clock tower in London, better known incorrectly as Big Ben (Big Ben is the bell inside though, if you didn’t know because that’s important). I have approximately seventeen body modifications, thirteen piercings and four tattoos, and probably will acquire more as I progress further into adulthood.

With the exception of four months in the Homeland, and summers in my first home in Connecticut, I lived the last four years in the remote almost-city that is Burlington, Vermont. While there I pursued a dual major Champlain College. This past May I earned my degree in Professional Writing and Secondary Education English. But Burlington brought more than just a college degree and copious amounts of student debt—it brought me a family of forever friends, expanded my intellectual horizons, and provided four years of solid adventure. The rest of my life has a lot of living up to do, but adventure doesn’t just fall into your lap, you have to go after it. I’ve decided to do just that, with Comet Dust & Wanderlust.
